Welcome to Our SanctuaryWe are proud to have this beautiful Sanctuary to worship our Lord each week. As God's house, it has been home to our "Holy Cross Family" for many years. All are welcome to worship here. In November of 1966 the cornerstone was laid for the main Sanctuary and it was dedicated in October of 1967. The beautiful new church was graced with a new pipe organ, a donation of a member of the congregation, and with a dossal curtain and paraments designed and woven by an artist from the Cranbrook Institue of Art. This year we have totally restored the pipe organ to its original condition. Many other improvements have been made to our Sanctuary over the years, including the addition of the faceted glass windows, an improved sound system and pew cushions. |

Our Faceted Glass WindowsIn 1998 the faceted glass windows for the main Sanctuary were added. The
windows were given by various members and as memorials. Twelve windows on the
side walls in the Sanctuary tell the Bible stories - reflecting lessons taught
through out the church year. Two smaller windows located in the back of the
church show "Go In Peace" and "Serve The Lord." The windows were designed by an
artist from Fort Wayne, IN who has also done many others for a number of area
churches and others throughout the United States. The design at the bottom of
each window was created to match our dossal curtain.
Other windows depict The Word and Sacraments: Bible, Lord's Supper and Baptism; Communion, The Holy Trinity; Pentecost: the Descending Dove, Tongues of Fire and the ship that represents the Christian Church; The Resurrection of Christ; Christ's Miracles - showing the healing in the lower portion and Christ's baptism. The Figure of the The Good Shepherd; the Figure of Martin Luther and symbols of the Reformation. |

that both entertain and educate. There are also a number of paperback

Our Fellowship HallIn 1978 we added the kitchen, Fellowship Hall, new church offices, the library lounge and extended the narthex to our church. The Fellowship hall is where we meet to celebrate big events and small. Join us each Sunday in the Hall for coffee and fellowship after worship. Christian Fellowship seniors group meets here monthly for lunches. The hall can accommodate a large size meal and has hosted many fine wedding receptions and large and small parties in the past years. Members often use our hall for showers and other events. If you are a member and are interested in using the Fellowship Hall, please contact the office by email or call 734-427-1414. |
