NONFOOD ITEMS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE IN NEED

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in partnership with the city of Livonia has begun a nonfood pantry for residents of Livonia in need. St. Matthews United Methodist Church of Livonia and the Livonia Rotary Club also assist by giving donations along with church members of Holy Cross. Other groups are welcome to donate as well.

Two members, Tammy and Joe Wojcik are volunteers are key to making this operation work, along with Michelle Long in our office at Holy Cross. Tammy and Joe purchase, and organize things and put the boxes together and Michelle is responsible for giving them out. This project helps those who can't use their government assistance for nonfood items, as only food is covered.

Those Livonia residents in need should go to the city of Livonia office to be qualified for a referral. The referral is then brought to the main office at Holy Cross. We distribute about 10 boxes a week, but we can't possibly help everybody. Any donations of the listed non-food items or a monetary donation [one time or ongoing] will definitely be appreciated and will be accepted at the church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Nonfood items are generally given out Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays during business hours.

For additonal information, contact the office at Holy Cross at office1@holycrosslivonia.org or phone the church (734) 427-1414 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Ask for Tammy or Michelle.
